Poll: How Much Data Do You Use?

I know this has been done before but I really want to get a taste of how much data Canadian Android users utilize on a monthly basis. Our data plans vary from other countries like the U.S. and so does our usage with data. And Android users are different than iPhone users so the results won’t necessarily be the same as every other poll out there.

Personally, I have a $30 6GB plan with Rogers and on average, I use roughly 4GB of data/month. I stream tons of internet radio (GrooveShark) and use my phone heavily throughout each day. I usually end up tethering the leftover data for some downloads around the end of the month, but we won’t count that in this calculation.

I’ve put a poll below but I’d love to know which carrier you are with and what you use all that data on. Let me know!

    I used to be under 500MB per month, but I'm in Toronto this week and I went over my 500 allotment on the last day of my billing period. Then I maxed it out again on the first day so quickly called Rogers and switched to the 6GB for special for an extra $5.

    I rarely go over 200MB in a month. I use my phone quite a bit (especially with the mobile version of Google Reader), but never stream or download anything. Even when I tethered it to my laptop for a few days on vacation, I didn't crack the 500MB mark.

    I don't use much at the moment, less than a GB, but as soon as Toktumi comes out with their Android app, my usage will go up considerably. And as soon as the Adam launches in November ish, my usage will go up even more :P

    I use close to the 6GB every month, either directly on my cell, or tethering through my Android phone to my laptop.

    good decision! I always think the $5 is nothing for not having to worry much about going over my data limit. any specific reason your usage went up in Toronto?

    That seems to be the case for most people. unless you're streaming media or doing something super data heavy, just browsing text articles only adds up to so much.

    Wow. almost 6GB just on the phone is pretty impressive. I find tethering can eat up data pretty quickly if you want it to though.

    I recommend using FeedSquare if you use Google Reader quite a bit. I can't remember how I found it, but have't opened Google Reader on my Android phone since I got it.
