XM Canada Android App Released (updated)
Good news to all you satellite radio fans. Now there’s another way to listen to your XM! And it’s about time Android got a little more respect around here. Seems like XM Canada sees the growth of Android and got an app on the Market for you folks.
I’ve always been a fan of satelite radio as i find the selection of talk shows on there is incredible. You get a personalized experience for music, news, talk or whatever you’re into. Here’s the stuff you get if you spend your precious $7.99/month for the online+ service:
- Over 100 channels of commercial-free music plus news, sports, talk and comedy channels;
- XM’s unparalleled programming from any computer in high-quality audio (128 Kbps);
- Online web player and Applications for a broad range of mobile devices including iPhone, iPod touch, Blackberry, iPad and now Android;
- Discover new songs and purchase them direct via iTunes;
- Listen via 3G or Wi-Fi connection;
- Share what you’re listening to online through Facebook;
- Browse what’s playing on other channels with song name and title display;
- “Favourites” functionality to save channels for fast, easy access.
Not too bad. I’ve always been more of a podcast guy when it comes to talk radio and on-demand streaming music is my way of doing things. I pay $3/month for Grooveshark and the enormous number of free podcasts out there like Twit keep me busy enough. There’s also all the free internet radio apps on the market.
But now that XM is on Android in Canada… $7.99 sure sounds tempting. If you don’t know whether you wanna take that plunge just yet, they’ve got a 14-day online trial set up just for you. Full list of features, content and channels right below in our source link.
