If I want a phone with a data plan and a voice plan with which I can use some minutes to talk, It will cost me around 50$/month anyway. Voice + data @ 50$/month will quickly pay for an unlocked, out of contract, unlocked phone in ~10 months service. Get cheaper service / shorter contracts and buy the phone at full price.
