Samsung Galaxy Tab Revealed, Coming To Canada “This Year”
We knew it was coming, and it did. Samsung showed off their latest Android tablet at the IFA trade show in Berlin. The Froyo running 7-inch Galaxy Tab will launch in Europe around the middle of September and according to Marketnews, Canadians are looking at a release later this year.
This tablet can actually make phone calls including video calls so it’ll be really interesting to see how they’re gonna roll it out. I’m hoping that even if there is a subsidized carrier version, an unlocked version will also be available on the side for us that don’t want to sign yet another agreement.
The people lucky enough to get their hands on it have been impressed and this seems to be the most promising Android tablet at the moment. Samsung has built tablet specific apps to go along with their touchwiz interface so the screen real-estate will be used more efficiently. Some features will only work in Europe for now such as the Samsung App Store.
The Android Market is running on this tablet and according to Samsung, all applications developed to Google’s app standards will be fully functional on the Galaxy Tab which is very exciting. Anyone wanna take a guess on which Canadian carrier this is gonna land on (if any?)
