Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Now Official, Releasing On August 21st
After months of rumours, leaks and reports, Samsung has officially unveiled their latest edition to the company’s popular Galaxy Note lineup; the Note 5.
The phone sports a beautiful and most likely the best 5.7-inch QHD display on the market accompanied with minimal bezels and a design that shares a lot of similarities with the Galaxy S6. The phone is encapsulated by a metal frame and a glass back which features an edge on both sides, making it feel much better in the hand.
A Galaxy Note wouldn’t really be called a Galaxy Note without its signature S-Pen which is now better than ever on the Note 5. As previous reports indicated, the S-Pen is now spring loaded and when inside the phone, it sits flush with the bottom. In terms of software features, the feature that really caught my eye is when the phone lets you write and draw quick notes on the screen without even making you turn the display on.
You can’t talk about smartphones without mentioning the specs, and the Galaxy Note 5 is no exception. The phone ships with the same Exynos 7420 SoC as the Galaxy S6/Edge/Plus, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 32/64/128GB of internal storage without
microSD card expansion, a 3000 mAh non-removable battery and a 16MP rear/5MP front camera with OIS. The phone also includes wireless charging and quick charging capabilities.
As for Canadian availability and price, MobileSyrup reports the Note 5 will start at $359.99 at Bell and Rogers and you can pre-order the phone as soon as tomorrow, August 14th. The phone itself will be available for everyone in Canada on August 21st.
