Samsung Galaxy: Bell’s First Android Phone Coming
Rogers was the first wireless carrier in Canada to bring Android phones to Canada. We got our first taste with the HTC Dream and Magic. Telus has the HTC Hero and Motorola Milestone (coming soon). What about Bell? Well, the wait is over as today we have confirmation within Bell stores that the Samsung Galaxy will be arriving in early 2010.
A poster titled “Innovation beyond your imagination.” has been spotted in Bell locations and smack dab on the left is the Samsung Galaxy sporting an Android logo. The poster reads:
“The first Android device in the Bell line up – and the thinnest available in the market – Galaxy comes fully loaded with an array of multimedia features. The advanced 3.2? AMOLED display provides unmatched luminescence and vivid eye catching colours, even in direct sunlight or at an angle. Android OS syncs e-mails, including Gmail, contact, calendar, and more in real time. Google apps and search offer intuitive entertainment and Galaxy always keeps the conversation going with Google Talk.”
So it looks like Bell is finally joining the Android foray in Canada. The only thing we can wish for now is the ability to buy apps from the Android Market in Canada. This is no big deal, since part of being Canadian involves waiting at least 1-2 years for the latest gadgets to hit our shores.
