I'm not much of a rabble rouser, but I think it would be helpful for the consciousness of what is happening is raised, much like it was raised when discussing the iPhone's data plan. Consumers can have impact, and this issue is important because it affects how much control you have over a device you trust your information to.. whether there really is any choice or not. "Jailbreaking" is usually an option, even on an iPhone, but being stuck in that grey zone of support and even legality is not a good place to be. Here's hoping for a real revolution in user freedom... given what a staggering breakthrough the Internet is (equal access to any application and open protocols), wireless data devices should have the same amount of user control as wired access.
