I donated to the ‘nesquick’ fund.. not sure it was necessary ultimately but it is nice to see people cooperate.

I am going to let others refine and work out the kinks then will root my Dream, have an upcoming trip where tethering will be very handy.

Yeah I’ve been following Haykuro’s HTC Dream rooting process, he managed to do it, but do you have a link that shows step by step on how to root?

We should all donote to him and buy him some nesquik

Doh! And here I was thinking the offer of $179 with a $50 mail-in rebate was great (albeit, they have yet to send me the mail-in rebate). Guess I’ll call them and tell them I want in on this deal.

I’m sure data plans will come and go. The average person is not going to even use 500mb, but I want to have the option.

With regard to my earlier post, where I called the Dream “underpowered,” I had been following people’s advice to let apps close themselves. However, with the multitasking OS (unlike *ahem* some other devices that can’t run more than one program at a time), some apps do get stuck, so I now use a program like TasKiller to keep performance and battery life reasonable.

I’\m still not sure about GPS though, and the camera function is unfortunately bad.

Oh yeah, for anyone not following the news, the Magic & Dream are now rooted, so we can tether and use the pay market.
