I think it's more of a toss-up. Both will have the Android v1.5 base OS, same screen, and the same clock speed.

Points for Dream:
+Qwerty keyboard. Much faster than onscreen keyboard.
+Most android software developed for it since it was first

Points for Magic
+Thinner / Lighter
+Double the ROM for storing applications (512 MB)
+More memory 288MB compared to 192MB
+Slightly bigger battery

Personally, I'm leaning towards the Magic. If you like to send IM's or texts, you'd probably prefer the Dream's keyboard.

I would go for the HTC Magic, as it's the second generation Android unit which would mean some more fixes. However, if you MUST have a physical QWERTY keyboard, the Dream might be for you. Try them both out in stores, then decide!!

what I expected. My only beef is the data plans. I think it's crap that iphone users were initially able to get that 6gb plan for $30 a month, and now if you want an HTC android phone you will pay $30 a month for 1gb.

Who do we complain to? I think for new devices like this they should have that 6gb promo plan available for the first month, or even week, to the users who want the phone on day 1.

Yes, I realize "typical" use doesn't come anywhere near 1gb a month, but it's probably safe to say the average person reading this site won't have typical usage. Rogers, throw us nerds a bone!
