You might have recently heard about LG failing o support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology, despite shipping with the Snapdragon 808 SoC. Turns out that was just an error on LG’s part during their launch event in New York a few weeks ago.
Two weeks after the announcement of the device, Qualcomm has now added the LG G4 to its official Quick Charge 2.0 list, alongside the Snapdragon 810-powered G Flex 2. In case you don’t know, Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology allows a 3300 mAh battery to charge to 60% in 30 minutes. Because the LG G4 has a 3000 mAh battery, it should take even less time to reach a higher charge level.
It’s uncertain whether or not it supports QC2.0 out of the box or if it requires a software update as only time will tell.
