Motorola Xoom OS 3.2 Update?

I read a couple rumours around the internet which seemed to indicate that Google is planning on releasing OS 3.2 update for the Motorola Xoom very soon.

In the Android Open Source Project under Issue No. 16992 There are some discussions about glitchy Microsoft exchange support that needs to be addressed. apparently someone who appears to be a staff member of google was seen posting the following comment

We all thought that OS 3.1 is on its way, but it looks 3.2 might actually take the spotlight. Having just bought a Motorola Xoom myself, I am filled with excitement and anticipation. Should 3.2 take center stage within the next week or so, I will be sure to cover it.

    I heard the non-US 3.1 upgrade was supposed to be hitting Canada shortly, and that 3.2 was coming out (supposedly for US). Was this reference to a Canadian upgrade, or to the U.S.?

        Have a Xoom myself, and from what I can tell, the US Xoom is a “Google Experience Tablet”, which means it gets the updates straight from Google itself (sort of like my US Nexus One does). Outside the US, it’s Motorola that calls the shots, which is why we’ve been waiting months for the 3.1 update. It’s hit Japan, China and now Australia as of today — see https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/410284#410284 for updates on where it’s being pushed.

        The alternative is to flash the Canadian version with the US ROM, but for some reason I haven’t been able to do that (the CLI app just hangs). If you manage to do that, I believe you’ll get the updates fresh from Google, and perhaps even have access to the US-only apps and services.

    still waiting for 3.1. though honestly i still haven’t used a fraction of the 32 gb memory so i’m not missing acess to the sd card (yet)

    i have installed the US 3.1 on my canadian Xoom, and although you get the google services apps (books, voice, etc) you cannot use them. even the ‘featured tablet apps’ tab doesn’t appear in the market.

      You can download the apk of Google books. I use it all the time on my xoom,
      works just fine ;)

      how did you get 3.1 on your canadian xoom?

        Go to settings and change the current date to a future date.  Power off then Settings and upgrade.  Just upgraded to 3.1 this way.  Cheers

    Does anyone know how to root it to the US version…. Apperently the US version is owned and controlled by google and the international is by motorola – so US. Xoom are first class for updates, the rest…. Well you know, we ain’t getting any updates or communications from Motorola…. Worst customer support I have ever seen.

    By the way, I’ll pay, I’m from montreal.

    Xoom in Canada (Nova Scotia) and _just_ got the 3.1 update on Sunday August 21st … no 3.2 update yet though :(
