Motorola Milestone 2 Confirmed In Promotional Video

Looks like Motorola will be soon releasing the Milestone 2!

The Milestone 2, which is the successor to the original Motorola Milestone or a GSM version of the Motorola Droid 2, was unofficially confirmed by Motorola through a promotional video for the device on YouTube.

Unfortunately, the video as since been pulled.

The video confirmed that the Milestone 2 will arrive in Germany and other markets, such as the USA and Canada, although the time frame was not revealed.

When the device does arrive, it will feature Android 2.2 out of the box and also feature HD video recording and Adobe Flash 10.1. Some of the other specifications include a 1GHz OMAP CPU, 512MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera, and 8GB of built-in memory. Motorola is also reportedly including an additional 8GB microSD card with the package.

Externally the Milestone 2 features a 3.7-inch display with 854×480 pixels and a horizontal slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

At this time, pricing and shipping dates for the Milestone 2 are unknown, so stay tuned for updates.

Who ever get this in Canada, gets my business. I am hanging around month to month waiting for a new Physical QWERTY Android model. Although I hear that the Samsung EPIC has a much better keyboard

    DO WANT.

I think the Samsung EPIC has a better keyboard, but who will release it in Canada?

I will be sorely tempted by this, though the lack of a full five row keyboard is a drawback (why offer a keyboard handset and not go all the way?) but in addition to having every checklist feature, I hear it has great battery life.

Also critical to know if this is the “Pro” version, compatible with world bands, or something that will only work on Telus compatible bands.

and the Carrier for Canada is……………………… *Drum Roll* – PROBABLY NOT ROGERS!! *Streamers flow* Lol. I know we’re getting the Captivate, so I doubt they’d keep revenue up by expanding the line beyond that. But if they got the Samsung Epic, holy crap, would I be elated!! But.. to dream..

Samsung Canada told me on twitter that the EPIC is only 4G and only for Sprint. Which appears to make no sense, bc most of Sprint’s network in the USA is not even 4G yet. The T-Mobile G2 (HTC I think) – has a very slick keyboard as well. CNET gave the Droid 2/Milestone keyboard is bad review. Carriers – of the Motorola – makes sense for it to be Telus? And for Wind Mobile to scoop up the G2?

Guys sorry to let you down, but the chances of the samsung epic being released in Canada are slim to none. The samsung epic is a 4g WiMax device (Sprint being the only WiMax network in North America) so unless they come out with another version, either GSM or CDMA it will not come to any Canadian carriers.

Now im interested in the part of the article that mentions that this will be a GSM device, which meens that any of the big carriers in Canada can launch this device (Bell, Telus, Rogers) I managed to find the video leaked, and there is no mentions of any countries or anything in there, or if its gsm of not…

Take a look at the video: http://dailymobile.se/2010/09/01/android-motorola-milestone-2-promo-video/

Does anybody know if an unlocked Epic 4G bought from USA can work on 3g of Bell or Rogers?

  • Anonymous

Unfortunately not, at least not in the way GSM phones can be unlocked. The Epic uses CDMA which doesn’t use SIM cards. There is some way it’s supposedly possible, if you’re the kind of person who knows how to take a working CDMA phone from the Bell/Telus network, open it up in the literal hardware sense and swap some stuff into the Epic, it could conceivably work. It’s certainly in an entirely different league from unlocking a GSM phone though, and would obviously void any kind of warranty on both phones in the process.

Hi, I wanted to know why Motorala doesn’t make CDMA android phones in Canada. I thought it was not comp but then I shopped phones at motorola.com and noticed there were several ANDROID CDMA phones to sell for eg: with Verizon! I’m old school and not looking to switch yet. Is there any rumor we would get that too?
