Motorola Milestone 2.1 OS Update Delayed By Motorola

by Billy on March 30th, 2010

The Motorola Milestone, currently available from Telus by either a 3-year agreement for $149.99 or outright for $599.99, was one of the most anticipated Android devices in Canada.

Currently running Android OS 2.0, Milestone users have been patiently waiting for the 2.1 Android OS update. As many other countries are updating their Android devices with the 2.1 OS, Motorola Canada today informed users that their update is going to be delayed.

On their Facebook page, Motorola Canada said:

A lot of you are asking about the upgrade from 2.0 to 2.1. Ultimately, we want to ensure you have the best possible experience on your device; as a result, the rollout is taking longer than expected. Though we don’t have the new deployment date to share just yet, we do promise we are working to get you updated information and will let you know as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience. We appreciate it!

So unfortunately we are going to have to wait a little longer, but just how much longer is not clear. Here’s to hoping that the update comes sooner rather than later.
