1st Gen Moto 360 Will Not Receive Android Wear 2.0 Update

Even today, the first generation Moto 360 remains to be one most popular Android Wear watches. However due to the ancient Texas Instruments OMAP 3 SoC used, it will stop receiving feature updates.

According to a tweet by Motorola Support, the Moto 360 will not be receiving the Android Wear 2.0 update, despite not being out on the market for two full years. However they did clarify by saying the watch would still receive security updates when needed.

However, the Moto 360 2nd gen and its variants will be receiving a new update with build number MWD49B starting today amd ot brings the following:

  • Moto Body enhanced calorie calculation – Moto Body now takes heart rate into account when calculating calories burned.
  • Moto Body heart rate continuous measure – Heart rate measures in Moto Body are now continuously updated, you don’t need to tap to re-scan while you are in the app.
  • Security updates – Includes the updates of Android monthly security bulletin until May 1st 2016.
  • Stability Improvements – Includes changes that fix bugs and improve stability.

Just a student crazy about technology.
