HTC Hero Wins Phone of the Year Award from T3!

Are you a proud owner of an Android device in Canada? Well, it looks like your Android pride is going to get some more loving! The annual T3 awards took place recently and Android won some considerable awards to cement its place in the smartphone sphere.

Android Wins Launch of the Year and HTC Hero Wins Phone of the Year!

The T3 Gadget Awards are a prestigious event that brings out the best of the best. The past couple of years it’s been the iPhone, but we all know that Android is barely taking off. The HTC Hero is going to be a very popular phone, and that’s why 135,000 T3 readers chose it as Phone of the Year, beating out the Apple iPhone and the Palm Pre. Here’s what a T3 spokesman had to say:

‘With a mix of svelte good looks – the jutting ‘chin’ on the bottom lends it an iconic air – and slickly intuitive usability, the Hero seems to do everything well, without fuss.

‘HTC, Google and the legions of people who would rather not buy an Apple at last have something to shout about. The Hero is a full featured, wonderfully usable, beautifully presented handset with a similarly lovely open source OS.’

Android also won Launch of the Year too. The Android brand is taking off, although in Canada it’s taking its sweet time. Let’s hope we get the HTC Hero and Motorola CLIQ when Bell and Telus launch their HSPA networks. Kudos to Android and HTC for winning these awards!
