Sure, and Google forces people to offer them for free. So, pay for them if you want to. But a major corporation that offers the majority of it's products for free benefits everyone (including the economy) more than small companies charging for the same thing.

As much as I enjoy the Google Android operating system, it amazes me how Google is basically copying all the great apps out there. There are already 2 or 3 great apps that do this function regarding product scanning with alternate location, pricing, etc.. It seems like Google sees a really good app and creates their own version then can push it out with their overpowering marketing influence, once again drowning out the smaller developer.
This is what makes a company a monopoly... hence companies like ROGERS!
Instead of just dumping the other great apps that can already do this, look them up and use them! This may be a good product but I've found 2 apps that can already do this and quite frankly I'm happy with them and will not even bother downloading another google app.
Google has done this with MANY apps already available. Continue to support the little guys or... get used to a "Google Only" phone....

Android 1.5 is definitely supported. I've got it running on my stock HTC Hero from Telus. Works like a champ although you can't use the Voice Search feature.
