Google launches Android Market web store with OTA installations
As expected, Google held their Android event at the Googleplex in Mountain View, California this morning. The biggest news that we got was a web interface for the Android Market. It’s amazing how long it took but nevertheless, we are happy that it’s finally here.
The website allows you to browse and search the entire line-up of apps available on the Marketplace just like you can on Android handsets but it’s got a trick up its sleeve. You can download any paid or free application on the web store and it will start installing right on your device over-the-air, like magic!
You’re given the choice of which handsets or tablets you want to install the application on from a list of all the devices tied to that Google account. Very nifty feature and it worked flawlessly for me while testing. Give it a shot and let us know if you run into anything.
