Google Earth Now Available On Android 2.1

by Billy on February 22nd, 2010

Android 2.1, together with the Nexus One, brought a lot of neat features to users. Those features included 3D graphics, interactive wallpapers, and Google Earth. However Google Earth was not fully available yet.

It now seems that Google Earth is fully functioning and available on the Android Market for Android 2.1 only.

Google Earth is a very graphic intensive application and as a result, Android 1.5 and 1.6 users will be unable to support Google Earth. This is not because of software, but because of hardware limitations.

At this time, the Nexus One supports Google Earth and the Milestone will support the app as well with a 2.1 update.

Sweet!! I'm glad to see it available to more carriers. How's the battery life when you use it? I know that it drains the iPhone like there's no tomorrow.
