If you read the title and were more than a little confused, let me explain. If you haven’t noticed, Google names each Android version after a dessert. 1.5 Cupcake, 1.6 Donut, 2.0/2.1 Eclair, 2.2 Froyo and 3.0 (or maybe 2.3) Gingerbread.
When they reach milestone completion on an upcoming Android OS, they put a monster decoration piece of the corresponding dessert on the GooglePlex lawn. Now tell me that isn’t cool!
This means that we’re gonna be seeing a lot of Gingerbread really soon. Sure, most of us are probably still waiting in line for our Froyo but that’s not gonna stop Google from pumping out their latest and greatest iterations. I’m getting my Nexus One ready and if you’re still thinking this whole post is some sort of late April Fool’s joke, Google’s own video on Youtube is right below.
