It’s a pretty well known fact by now that Samsung won’t be unveiling the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017 like it was initially expected. However the tech giant will be present at the event where we expect it to launch a new tablet and also show a short Galaxy S8 teaser.
Well according to fresh info coming from Korean publication Hankyung, Samsung is also going to reveal the Galaxy S8 release date in Barcelona.
We’re not told given an estimate date by the report, but previous rumours have been pointing towards the end of March.
We were told previously that Samsung plans to host a dedicated event in New York on March 29 and the Galaxy S8 launch seems to be on the agenda of that event. Which means the phone should finally become available in mid-April.
Samsung’s next flagship is shaping out to be quite a beast. The phone is expected to arrive in 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch versions with Snapdragon 835 processors nestled under the hood. Both models will lack a physical home button and will take advantage of a Continuum-like desktop dock dubbed DeX.
After the Galaxy Note7 fiasco, Samsung is pinning all hopes of winning the trust of its customers back on the Galaxy S8. Hopefully, the Galaxy S8 will be worth our wait.
