Galaxy Note 5 Could Be Released Sooner Due To Upcoming iPhone

The Galaxy Note was the first mainstream phablet smartphone and now that its direct competitor is Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung has to respond one way or another.

According to a Taiwanese blog, sources indicate Samsung is considering on moving its original release date for the Galaxy Note 5 to as early as August in order to give itself an edge over the upcoming iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. As for the announcement, many rumours suggested the usual IFA unveil but now it seems they’ll do it a few weeks prior to the release.

So far, the specs for the phone are pretty much the best I’ve seen yet; a newer generation 5.7-inch QHD display, Exynos 7422 SoC, 3GB or even 4GB of RAM, 4100 mAh battery, UFS 2.0 (which is currently found on the Galaxy S6 variants) and of course, USB 3.1 Type C.
