Flash Player 10.2 coming to Honeycomb on March 18, Gingerbread and Froyo to follow

A lot of criticism towards the Motorola Xoom is that it doesn’t ship with Flash player and only a promise for Flash in the future. Adobe announced Flash 10.2 is coming to Android at MWC with improved features and performance. This seems to be what Google had been waiting for and why they held off getting Flash 10.1 on the Xoom.

Not all Android devices will get Flash 10.2 right away though. A beta will be released to Android 3.0 Honeycomb devices on March 18th. Gingerbread and Froyo users will receive Flash 10.2 if their device meets hardware requirements. Follow the source link for a list of certified devices but here are the general minimum requirements:

    Typical Motorola, heard the promise of Flash in the future a year ago on the Milestone. Still waiting………… For the Nexus S that is, tired of waiting and dealing with Motorola. Will never buy Motorola again, no matter how cool it i, lesson learned..

    • Yeah, I gave up waiting for Motorola to deal with the Milestone in Canada and started using custom ROM’s. The G.O.T. ROM of Android 2.2 works like a charm (as does Flash)
