Best Buy Outright Milestone $50 Less Than Telus

This week, Telus debuted the Android 2.0 Motorola Milestone. The device was released for $199.99 on a 3-year voice & data plan that is $50 or higher. Potential owners could also buy the device outright at $599.99.

If you’re looking to avoid the contract and get a good price outright, check out Best Buy! Best Buy has introduced the Milestone at the same term prices as Telus except that the Best Buy outright price is $549.99, down from 599.99.

The $50 less outright pricing for the Milestone is available online or in-store, so check it out.

The last time I checked you can cancel about any Telus contract for the equivalent of 20$ per months that will not be completed. So paying 350$ more just to avoid the contract is quite a lot. Someone could buy the phone for 200$ with contract and cancel after 1 1/2 year for 360$.

The only reason I would see to buy the device alone is if someone would like to get a cheaper plan without data, which is feasible because you still have wifi available to use the device.

So is Telus going to push Android 2.1 to this phone when released or is Motorola going to handle that?

Why is Rogers so behind the times with their android devices? 1.5 still.. comeon.. Lets get some more 2.0 phones north of the border
