Bell Releases Motorola XT860 4G

Bell has been hammering the mobile market with one phone after another, leaving some people questioning when their own carrier is going to release some updated super phones.

The final instalment of this quarters Bell “Superphones” has been released. The Motorola XT860 4G sits nicely along side the recent smash hits, HTC Sensation, Samsung Galaxy S II 4G and the MOTOROLA ATRIX 4G. The XT860 run Android OS 2.3 and is otherwise known as the Milestone 3 or Droid 3 and comes with the familiar slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Like any new phone these days, this wouldn’t be a superphone without a dual core processor, 4-inch qHD touchscreen display that has a resolution of 960×540. The device isn’t the lightest at 167 grams but is dubbed the “World’s Thinnest QWERTY Slider Smartphone” at 12.9 mm thin. Other specs are that it has Wi-Fi, an 8 megapixel camera that records 1080p HD videos and also a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. Prices, this Android ranges from $99.95 on a 3-year to $549.95 no-contract.

The real question is; Can motorola take the shine away from the Galaxy S II, released by Samsung just weeks ago?

Based on specs and media hype. If you had to buy with the Galaxy S II or this Motorola XT860, which would you choose and why?

Seriously?  Another high-end Android phone going to Bell.  How many do they need?  WTF is Rogers up to?  This is really starting to piss me off.  Why cant Rogers get any of the top of the line Android phones?  HTC Sensation, Samsung GS2, Motorola Atrix and now this too, all on Bell…sigh…sucks to be on Rogers right now.

Keep in mind jason, Rogers is releasing their HTC Evo 3D and LG Optimus 3D very soon.
Hopefully this will help Rogers set things right, being able to offer Canada it’s first ever 3D phones. Which are both dual cores with specs very simular to the Galaxy SII and XT860.

I got my Droid 3 phone yesterday, just before the store sold out of them. This is the ultimate phone hands down, and yes it does have a large space key which works regardless of where you press it..

Well technically they did get released, but for some reason Rogers delayed the Evo 3D. My friend and I went to get him one, and they gave us this whole story about them being delayed about 4 weeks. I don’t know if it was all BS, but either way.. lol

this phone isn’t worth it. i got a chance to play with it early this week. the sliding mechanism sucks. it’s not smooth at all, even after 15-20 of continuous ’sliding’ it didn’t loosen it up (which i guess can be a good thing). they keyboard is the crappiest i’ve ever seen on an android phone. it has rubber keys that need to be pushed in the center of the key to work (you’ve got a nice long space bar but you have to push the center of it to work). i don’t know what it is but it just doesn’t feel right in my hand.
