Bell No Longer Selling The HTC Legend?

Well, this is upsetting. One of the best looking Android phones which only recently saw the light of day on Bell and one that is promised to get 2.2 Froyo pretty soon is no more. This is due to “ongoing supply constraints from the manufacturer” according to a leaked screenshot and you can bet that’s got something to do with the AMOLED shortages plaguing so many phones.

Keep in mind that Virgin started selling this phone before Bell and we don’t know if their Legend will face the same tragedy but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. Bell has other great smartphones too like the Vibrant but it’s just sad to see a phone not live past 2 months on a carrier.

Were you planning on getting a Legend? Or did that Super AMOLED screen on the Vibrant just win you over?

Are we sure that it won't still be getting the froyo any time soon? This is especially bad news as we really only have very few decent choices in Canada for Android phones (Legend, Desire, Milestone and Vibrant namely). I'm pretty bummed cause I only recently got my Legend and it's simply a fantastic device.

You are for sure getting 2.2 Froyo soon. Sorry if I made it sound like that's not still coming. The phone is discontinued but the update plans should still be in place.

I’m with Lenny, Kinda disappointing, I worked hard to get mine, I had to search all over Southwest NB, and walk all over St. John to eventually find one there. I just hope I don’t break the screen any time soon.
