Awaiting the iOS announcement – Android readies it’s measuring stick

So here we are awaiting the announcement from the Apple people. I’m choosing to stay clear of it this afternoon [besides I'm busy at work], but I thought about what does this mean for the Android users out there?

What we do know is that many more new smartphone buyers are buying android. 56% of them are [versus only 28% are buying iOS].

However, what about the current users? Well, it means it’s new measuring stick time.  We go and compare our best phone against their flagship and see who still walks tall?

But is it necessary, when for us it just works?  When for them, it just works?  Shouldn’t that be enough?

So, they’re starting to announce now I can see as my GReader count starts to fly… what’s the best phone we got?

Hardware is a snorefest. Software we knew about months ago. All in all, dissappointing…

Edit: Actually, it will be a world phone, so that’s a piece of good news. Means nothing to us though unless it can cover both Wind/Moblicity frequencies and Robellus frequencies…

Well I have to say that I love my Nexus S. Even though they can’t seem to fix the weird search bug. I’ve had an iPhone and loved it. I love my Nexus S more. Even though I bit the bullet and put Malware Protection on the device. I love the freedom of the Android device. I just downloaded a very nice theme for it. Do THAT on your iPhone. Well maybe you can. I’ve not owned one for a while… ;)

they definitely are blending more and more into each other these days.  But i still think you can do more on an android.
I believe that when you look at it, given the year, Apple hasn’t really innovated:
       - siri : google voice actions
       - find your friends :  latitude

      now who’s copying who?

can’t wait to see what samsung shows up with — really show Apple what INNOVATION is really all about

Apple has really only perfected innovation. Touch screen existed, they
made them better. Apps and music existed, they made them easier to consume.

I love my NexusS and the S2 stays way better, but lets but Apple will always lead ease of use.
