Android OS 2.2 To Feature USB & WiFi Tethering
In the latest Android OS 2.2 news, it has been revealed that Android 2.2, AKA Froyo, will feature USB and WiFi tethering as a standard feature set.
USB/WiFi tethering gives users the ability to use their device 3G data connection as a modem to provide Internet to another device that needs it.
For example, you can connect an Android OS 2.2 device to a laptop either by USB or WiFi (creates a local hotspot) and the laptop will use the Android data connection for internet access.
While this is already possible on rooted Android devices, it is a great feature set to make standard in the OS. Many users are not comfortable with rooting their device, so built-in tethering provides easy access to the function.
As expected, this feature and many more will likely make their debut at the Google I/O conference on May 19, where Android 2.2 is expected to be released as well as information regarding Flash.
