Earlier today, Google released Android 1.6 SDK to the developer community. The release comes with a series of updated tools and new API’s for developers to play with.
The benefit for users is that 1.6 allows Android devices to run in different screen sizes and various screen resolutions, it adds a new text-to-speech API and a new market interface. The update also introduces “QuickSearch”, which is device-wide search for applications, contacts and the Internet.
If you check out the official release, the developer notes that Android 1.6 will be running on devices as early as October, so we can hopefully expect to see more at that time.
