Acer Liquid mt now available on Rogers

Not all Android smartphones have to be amazingly fast to gain recognition. Here we have the Acer Liquid mt which went on sale at Rogers a couple of days ago. Pretty good looking phone with decent horsepower, let’s have a peek.

3.6-inch screen with a 800 x 480 resolution, 800MHz CPU, 5MP camera with an LED flash that can record in 720p HD, WiFi, Bluetooth, ships with Android 2.2 Froyo with Gingerbread arriving in the future. Acer’s custom skin on Froyo is actually quite unique with multiple lock screens to control your music and check mail all without having to unlock the device. Three status lights on the top indicate new events, notifications and low battery warnings. The mt stands for metal that refers to its stainless backframe.

The price? $49.99 on a 3-year and $399.99 no-contract. Not bad. Acer has really tried to make this phone different than the rest so its hard to write it off as another low-end Android handset. What do you think?

    The previous Acer Liquid has a serious bug. If your free space drops below 20MB (say, to 19 MB), you can’t receive any more text messages. WTF? If you buy this newer phone, make sure you check that out right away.

    Last Acer failed. I encourage all rogers employees to get a bigger garbage can for under their desk over the next couple of weeks for returns lol

    Had the acer Liquid E, just upgraded to this. Super fast crazy sleek design. And with all the dual core craze coming a bit later this will do me just fine for a while.

    And the Liquid E is an amazing phone if you just get a nice case for it, The only problem was the build quality.

    I have an Acer Liquid Metal & love it. It could use more built in memory thought.
