Acer Liquid E Ferrari Edition Coming Soon To Canada?

This week, a new Liquid E variant showed up on Acer’s Canadian website. The new variant is a completely skinned Ferrari edition of the Android-powered device.

The new device is not yet available in Canada but oddly enough, it is on the Acer Canada home page. Specifications of the Ferrari Liquid E edition are the same as the Liquid E already available in Canada from Rogers:

  • Android OS 2.1
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • 3.5-inch touchscreen display
  • 5-megapixel camera with video
  • WiFi
  • Bluetooth
  • GPS

There is no release date or pricing details, but the product description is great! Check it out:

“Ferrari details are everywhere on the Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition. On the front, the glossy Ferrari F1 red finish contrasts with the dark chrome keys and mirror black effect of the large 3.5 high-resolution capacitive screen while round the back, the “Scuderia Ferrari” shield with surrounding carbon fiber, speaker designed like an air intake leave no doubt that this is one of the world’s most sophisticated, high-performance mobile devices.”

I bet rogers is getting this Gem. i hope they fixed the heating issue. on a plus side, if you kept the phone in your front pocket guys, you can help make yourself sterile. This phone is comparable to a Ferrari as a Toyota Echo is comparable to a Farrari. Silly Acer!

check out the video, end of the video has a guy trying to cook a egg on the liquid E

I really haven't tried the Liquid E, but all phones get hot when you use them for a while. My N1 also gets hot as you use it same as the Legend when I had it. but still, I haven't tried it to see the degree of how hot it gets.

Still, I think the phone is excellent for the price (around 400), putting into account its specs. One thing that I don't like about this phone is the screen size compared to the device size. the phone is almost as big as the X10 from Sony Ericsson, but the screen is only 3.5 inches. I think I would get it once it gets Android 2.2 …… which is probably like next year, and that's when my nexus one will be having the 3.0 update, so screw this I'm staying with my Nexus.
