Fingerprint sensors are all the rage these days as they add a touch of personal security to devices but for one Chinese tech company, they have their eye on something even more secure. Vivo is set to announce their new device, the Vivo X5 Pro, later this month and based on this latest teaser, this device is going to come equipped with a very futuristic sounding retinal scanner for security purposes.
Vivo has always pushed the boundaries with their devices whether that meant making them as slim as possible or packing them with the latest and greatest tech available on the market. In addition to the retinal scanner, the X5 Pro will also pack a 6″ display, Snapdragon 615, 3GB RAM and a 3200-3500 mAh battery. The front facing camera is also said to be able to create interpolated 32MP selfies and, given Vivo’s track record, the rear camera won’t be any slouch either.
As far as I know, this retinal scanner will be a first for the mobile industry and it’ll be interesting to see if the big guys adopt this tech in their next version devices.
