I’m loving all the Marshmallow update lately and we have yet another one to report. Motorola has begun rolling out another update, this time for the Moto G (2015)! The update brings the budget device up to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Google’s latest tasty treat.
Word is that only the unlocked variant (XT1540) is receiving the update currently but other variants and carrier locked devices should be receiving the update soon enough. The update, which comes in at about 2GB brings all the new Marshmallow features (Doze, Now on Tap, App Permissions, etc.) to the device but also gets rid of some Motorola apps such as Migrate and Assist. Motorola had noted that they would be scrapping some of their apps as Google has begun implementing similar apps and services into Android.
Be sure to let us know if you get the update and which carrier you’re on so we can pass along the news!
