Samsung Marshmallow Updates Delayed Again On Telus

Telus Marshmallow

Bad news Samsung fans.  The Marshmallow updates for the 2015 flagships have been delayed once again, at least on Telus.  Last we saw, the S6 Edge+ and Note 5 were expected to get updated on March 25 while the S6 and S6 Edge were slated for April 4 and April 13 respectively.

According to the latest update to Telus’ update schedule, the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ will not get updated until April 7.  The S6 and S6 Edge will be update a week later on April 14.

I’m not sure why there have been so many delays with these updates but I’m looking into it and will let you know if I figure anything out.

Oh, and although this is just Telus’ schedule, my guess is that other carriers are likely going to be delayed as well.

I called Rogers to ask them when the S6 update would arrive. Their response was that we don’t release estimates of updates. I’m convinced that the tech I spoke to didn’t even know what I was talking about.

There has to be a better way to update phones. Why are we all willing to be held hostage by the carriers?

Seems like they put iOS devices first other than android? Who knows.

If anyone is still wondering, Rogers STILL hasn’t updated the S6 to marshmallow. So it’s off to XDA forums to find the solution. I used a program called fiddler along with Samsung SmartSwitch to load the Telus update on my Rogers phone.
