Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant Coming To SaskTel August 25

Earlier this month, SaskTel launched their 3G+ network, opening the door to GSM/SIM card devices.

At launch, SaskTel had a list of devices that would be 3G+ compatible, but no release dates or pricing was available.

This week, SaskTel has announced via Twitter that the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant would launch on August 25! Note that this date is an estimated date for when the dealer stores will receive the device.

The Galaxy S Vibrant features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, Android OS 2.1, a 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, and GPS.

When available, the Galaxy S Vibrant will run for $150 on a 3-year agreement.

    And again, everyone in MB is stuck with diddly. Not only does Sask get it first, other provinces can actually Carrier hope to Bell, Virgin and Telus for other Android devices..But no, Not MB.

    Also – Captivate or Desire? Tough choice, I'd go Cap, but I dunno, Desire is sweet..Which ever one you can get is an excellent choice

    Desire has a a camera flash (and seems to take better picture), has a smaller size (3.7″ screen) making it more “pocketable”, and has an FM radio.

    Captivate has what is probably the best screen on any mobile device (assuming you don't buy into the Apple propaganda), a (arguably) better processor, and does 720p video (but poorly it seems).

    Tough choice… good luck :-P

    Is it just me, or is Rogers notorious for not giving out dates till they're practically upon us?

    Of course, we're hearing on the 21st that SaskTel is releasing the Galaxy S on the 25th, so there ya go…

    Man, this is getting stupid for us in Manitoba. My Magic died a few weeks ago and I'm just waiting and waiting and waiting for the Captivate. Can't even get the Desire in MB. Anyone know the outright price for this from Sasktel? I might make a road trip and pick it up. Although I realy want the new Galaxy S with the keyboard. Won't get that ever probably. It sucks to live here if you want the newest phones.

    I agree with win7heartsiphone that this is embarrassing for Rogers, Heck, I am embarrassed to be on them. There Android phones to date are lackluster to say the best. having exclusives on Acer liquid E, Sony erricson mini and motorolla Flip out isn't anything to be proud of. When Sasktel can get a great phone like this, i am thinking its time to change providers. I am not sure what is with Rogers, i have called their sales line multiple times and talked to people at actual stores trying to get a date for the captivate. i have heard, end of this month, September 26, beginning of October, Next year. I bet there management teams are trying to build suspense, instead all they are doing is causing annoyance and frustration. But i am rambling off now, CONGRATS to Sasktel for getting a great android phone!! LEARN FROM SASKTEL ROGERS!!
