Just yesterday we got a look at the Marshmallow update for the Blackberry Priv. At that time, we didn’t have a clear time frame for the release but today we have a slightly better idea of when the update might drop.
In an earnings call earlier today, Blackberry CEO John Chen stated that the update to the Priv should land in late April or Early May. It’s a pretty disappointing time frame given how well the company has done with issuing its security updates.
If Blackberry wanted to really distinguish themselves against the competition, timely updates could have been a great way to do so. As it stands, they’re slower than may established manufacturers and things are really starting to look bleak for the Canadian company.
