While Samsung hasn’t officially said anything still, it seems that rumours of an earlier launch window for the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ are on track given the number of leaks and rumours that have been surfacing. One rumour regarding the announcement date has undergone a slight tweak however. According to a new report coming out of the Korean media, August 13 will be announcement day, not August 12. The report also provides a location for the event and, as is often the case, New York will be the lucky city to host the event.
While this is definitely exciting news, the change in announcement date isn’t even the best part of these most recent reports. According to a Sprint User Agent Profile that had surfaced briefly, the Note 5 will indeed retain expandable storage despite the many reports to the contrary. To be a bit more specific, the Note 5 will support microSDXC cards of up to 128GB! Hopefully this play out to be true as many are already filling the web with comments of their displeasure with Samsung’s decisions to drop expandable storage and removable batteries.
