If you’re a media hoarder and were hoping to grab a 128GB version of the Note 5 or S6 Edge+ then unfortunately you’re out of luck. Despite a brief listing of such versions of each handset on Samsung’s website, the company has confirmed that such models will not be manufactured.
Now this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise as Samsung failed to mention such devices at their Unpacked event and sales of the 128GB versions of the S6 and S6 Edge have been halted in select markets due to a lack of demand. Nevertheless, it’s an interesting business choice as Samsung’s main competition, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, both offer the 128GB storage option. Add to that Samsung’s decision to ditch expandable storage and you’ve really got a conundrum if you’re in need of a massive amount of storage.
What do you guys think? Do you need 128GB of storage on a device or is Samsung doing the right thing by slimming down their options?
