We just posted about LG’s little teaser video promising something new at MWC. Well maybe this leaked phone is part of that something new. What we have here is a variant of the LG Optimus G Pro. Another Optimus G Pro was announced a while back and was heading to Japan through NTT DoCoMo, but this one is different than that one. This one is definitely in the phablet category and here’s the specs for this guy:
- 5.5″ 1080p IPS-LCD Display
- 1.7GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon Processor
- 2GB RAM
- 32GB Internal STorage
- 13MP Camera
- 2MP Front Facing Camera
- 3140 mAh Battery
- Micro-SD Card Slot
- Possibly Video Out Port
Stylistically, it looks very much like a Galaxy Note II. The shape is the same, the size looks the same even the home button looks the same. The capacitive buttons are switched around so I guess that’s a difference but it really looks like a Note II.
This phone is expected to make its way to MWC so we don’t have too long to wait before we know everything there is to know about this upcoming device. I expect that it will take on a different name just to keep things from getting confusing, but maybe Optimus G is their new branding for everything? Who knows? It’ll be interesting to see how well this stacks up against the Note II, not just on paper but in terms of functionality. Will it have some variation of a S-Pen?
What do you guys think of the leaked phone?
