It’s Official: Galaxy Note II Revealed

We all knew it was coming.  We all waited anxiously.  And it’s finally revealed.  Today at their Unpacked Event, Samsung revealed to the world the Galaxy Note 2.

It looks how I thought it would.  A note that’s taken some cues from the Galaxy S3.  And all the specs lined up how we expected them to.  Here’s the breakdown:

  • 5.5″ SuperAMOLED Plus with a 1280×720 resolution (RGB MATRIX!!)
  • 1.6GHz Quad-Core Exynos Processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 8 MP Camera
  • 1.9 MP Camera
  • New and improved S Pen
  • MASSIVE 3100 mAh battery
  • 16GB, 32GB, 64GB Versions
  • Micro-SD Card Slot

Oh and one of the best things about this device?  It’ll be launching with Jelly Bean!  That means there should be absolutely no lag of any kind on this device.

And the rumoured release date also seems pretty spot on with an October release set.

I’ll hoping to get myself one of these in the near future.  However, we still have to wait and see if the North American version gets changed at all (like the original Note).  There’s also no word on pricing at the time but I imagine it’ll be be about the same price as the original Note (plus or minus $50?).

So there we have it.  No more speculations.  Just more anticipation!

  • The first note did surprisingly well – will be interesting to see how this one sells especially with the S3 seemingly having such high praise and general interest. Launching with Jelly Bean is smart but not sure if it will be enough of a incentive for buyers if Samsung follows through and updates the S3 to Jelly Bean soon. People who really wanted the functionality and/or size of the Note probably already have the first gen.
