The HTC One family just got a little bit bigger today as HTC unveiled the new HTC One A9 earlier today! The A9 wasn’t much of a secret as the device had been leaked pretty extensively but its always nice to have an official announcement. Here’s a rundown of the specs:
- 5″ 1080p AMOLED Display
- Snapdragon 617 Octo-Core Processor
- 3GB RAM
- 32GB of Expandable Storage
- 13MP Camera with OIS
- 4MP UltraPixel Front Facing Camera
- 2150 mAh Battery with Quick Charge Technology
- Fingerprint Reader
- Android 6.0 Lollipop
It’s definitely not the most compelling device on the market, spec wise at least, but it’s a pretty solid offering nonetheless. Design wise, it very much follows in the footsteps of the One series with a beautiful sleek shell. It also comes packed with Marshmallow, meaning it packs Google’s latest and greatest software right from the get go.
Now one of the big changes HTC made with the A9 doesn’t actually have to do with the device itself, but rather its distribution. In addition to the regular carrier route (not many details on that yet), HTC is selling the One A9 unlocked directly to consumers via their website. They already have the device up for pre-order and have set the price at $549. Shipments should begin sometime in November.
So what do you guys think of HTC’s latest?
