If you have yet to hear, HTC has released a beautiful 5″ Droid with a 1080p display. Currently it’s available in Japan as the HTC Butterfly J and in the US as the Droid DNA on Verizon. While those two countries get to try out one of the best devices to come out of the HTC camp, the rest of the world lies in wait, hoping that a variant of the phablet will reach their county too. On paper the phone looks amazing. Here’s the spec sheet:
- 5″ 1080p Super LCD 3 Display (440 PPI)
- 1.5 GHz Quad-Core S4 Processor
- 2GB Ram
- 16GB Internal Storage
- 2020 mAh Battery (Non-Removable)
- 8MP Camera
- 2.1 MP Front-Facing Camera
- Android 4.1 with HTC Sense 4+
So while this phone is not currently available beyond Japan and the US, these shots give us hope that perhaps more versions (hopefully international versions) are on the way. And from the looks of the pictures, it looks as though there could be three colour options, White, Black and Brown.
While I’m more than happy with my Note II, I’d still be interested in playing around with HTC’s take on a phablet. How many of you would be picking up this device if it were coming to Canada?
