Devices sporting the USB Type-C ports are finally starting to trickle into the market (ie. Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, OnePlus Two) so news that Samsung is planning on using the new port style on their next flagship shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.
The news came courtesy of SamMobile who stated that their source has confirmed that the Galaxy S7 will indeed utilize a USB Type-C charge port. Unlike the OnePlus Two, who’s Type-C port did not support quick charging, the Galaxy S7 should still have that wonderful feature enabled despite the new port style.
It seems that 2016 may be the year where we start to see USB Type-C ports more widely available and hopefully by this time next year the reversible cable will start to become the norm for everything!
