For Android enthusiasts, Nexus devices are probably the most hotly anticipated devices of the year and this year we’re expecting to see two new Nexus smartphones, one from LG and one from Huawei. Information on both has been pretty sparse but a new leaks claims to have a pretty extensive spec list.
Beginning with the LG made device, currently being referred to as the Nexus 5 (2015), the leak claims that it will feature a 5.2″ 1080p P-OLED display. A Snapdragon 620 Processor paired with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage will keep things running smoothly. The battery will be 3180 mAh and it will be coupled with a MediaTek MT3188 wireless charger for your charging convenience. The rear camera will be a 13MP IMX278 with Laser Auto Focus, OIS, and dual tone flash. The front facing camera will be 4MP and will apparently feature Iris Detection. Also up front will be some stereo speakers while the rear will sport the power button with an integrated fingerprint reader. A USB Type-C port with Quickcharge 2.0 round things out.
The leak goes on to say that the device will feature an aluminum frame with chamfered edges paired with a matte finished plastic rear cover. Price is said to be between $300-$400 which I’m sure will please many a Android enthusiasts if true.
Details on the Huawei Nexus are much less extensive but something is better than nothing I guess. According to the leak, the Huawei Nexus will feature a large 5.7″ AMOLED display, a metal unibody design (perhaps something like the Ascend Mate 7?) , and a 21MP IMX230 rear camera sensor (this is the same sensor found on the Moto X Style). It will also feature wireless charging despite the metal body.
So there you have it. Take this with a grain of salt of course. Nothing is official till it’s official but leaks and rumours are definitely picking up steam and that’s always a good thing!
