Exactly for competition and pushing boundaries. There are too many phones IMO that are too "Google" like. If I can get all the Google features the exact same way on any other phone, why get a Google phone then? I realize the apps and openness are great, but to this point, there is very little IMO that Android is offering besides widgets. Widgets are just amazing, but I want to have the best google experience with the google OS. It's the same reason why Apple doesn't give iLife to PC users and so on. You should keep some of your advantages to give your product more of an edge. Competitors then will have to push even harder and innovate more to compete with other advantages.

Spriggers, why? There is so much that needs to be done for all these devices, making 'exclusive' features is a really backward approach and thankfully not likely in our competitive and expanding world.

I do need to say, I really regret getting the HTC Dream. It's really poor in so many ways. I'll never buy another HTC device. I hope Rogers makes concessions as an apology to early adopters.

Sounds awesome to me. :) Now Google needs to make sure they keep these features just for Android users. Google really should start considering cutting down support for other phones / OS's. It gets annoying when you have a google phone, and the iphone can do the same stuff, using the same google features.
